Mostar’s arresting bridge, Stari Most, was destroyed in 1993 in the Croat-Bosniak War. Restored in consultation with UNESCO, it’s now considered a symbol of reconciliation. With cobblestoned streets, old stone buildings, and its beautiful bridge spanning the picturesque Neretva River, this town looks like it was plucked from the pages of a fairytale. Mostar also makes a great daytrip, either from Split, Dubrovnik, or Sarajevo.
